The COVID-19 pandemic created an unprecedented humanitarian crisis. During this critical time, Vaghmi Foundation emerged as a frontline responder, working tirelessly to support vulnerable communities. Through strong collaboration with corporate partners, government authorities, NGOs, and individual donors, the foundation ensured timely relief to thousands of people affected by lockdowns and economic disruption.
Daily Meal Distribution with Pune City Police
Large-Scale Food Distribution & Community Kitchens
With coordination and support from Pune City Police, Vaghmi Foundation distributed 5,000 freshly cooked meals daily for nearly 2–3 months, reaching stranded labourers, daily-wage workers, and families who had lost their source of income. Community Kitchens Setup Kitchen by IRCTC – Supported large-scale bulk cooking operations Kondhwa Kitchen – Operated with local coordination and community participation Lohegaon Kitchen – Established by Vaghmi Foundation in association with partners. Together, these kitchens ensured uninterrupted food service during the most critical months of the pandemic.

Mapping assistance helped identify high-need zones, enabling targeted food and grain distribution.

IPAC contributed 50,000 food packets, which were distributed across multiple locations in Pune.

Health Support for Frontline Workers
Vaghmi Foundation extended special healthcare support to 150 traffic police personnel who contracted COVID-19 while on duty.
Two qualified homeopathic doctors provided daily remote consultations
Officers were guided to recover safely at home, reducing hospital burden
Support included breathing exercises, recovery routines, and daily health monitoring
Emotional support sessions addressed isolation and stress
Continuous guidance helped maintain discipline in diet, rest, and medication
Through structured follow-ups and dedicated care, all supported personnel successfully recovered, highlighting the importance of community-based health support.
Education Support for Children
Cognizant provided mobile tablets to underprivileged students, ensuring continuity in online education during lockdown.
