Empowering Women, Transforming Lives

At Vaghmi Foundation, we believe that empowering women is key to creating a sustainable and thriving community. With this vision in mind, Project Unnati was initiated in partnership with Mahindra, focusing on skill development for school dropout girls in the Khed Rajgurunagar region.

Overview of Project Unnati: Spanning across 60 villages, the project identified 604 school dropout girls, aged between 18-40, who were eager to support their families financially but lacked opportunities. These girls were given a chance to rewrite their stories through skill-based training in areas with high employment potential.

Skill Development Programs: To cater to the diverse needs and aspirations of the participants, three tailored skill programs were conducted:

1. Aarogyam: Training in basic healthcare to equip participants for roles in hospitals and healthcare facilities.

2. Driving Training: Preparing candidates for employment in logistics, personal chauffeur services, and other driving-related roles.

3. Industrial Welding: Focused on providing technical skills for employment in manufacturing and industrial sectors.

Timeline:

The program ran from July 2023 to April 2024, ensuring ample time for training, mentoring, and placements.

Impact: Skill Building: Over 604 women gained industry-relevant skills, empowering them to achieve economic independence.

Employment Opportunities: 72% of participants were successfully placed in hospitals, logistics companies, and industrial roles, transforming their lives and contributing to their family income.

Community Development: The program not only uplifted individual families but also created a ripple effect, inspiring others in the community to pursue similar opportunities.
